Common questions and tips from our work with South Haven customers.
- What should I do before cabinets come out?
- Empty every cabinet and drawer, and clear the countertops. If the sink sits in the cabinets being removed, the water supply and drain need to be disconnected first, so plan for that. Let us know about any appliances built into the cabinet run, like a dishwasher or range, when you call for a quote.
- Can you help with the new cabinets too?
- Yes. After we remove and haul away the old cabinets, we can help coordinate installation of the new ones by connecting you with an installer. That way the tearout, the haul and the new setup are lined up through one call instead of several.
Tip
Measure before you order new cabinets
Once the old cabinets are out, walls and floors that were hidden become visible. Check them before ordering. Walls are rarely perfectly square, and floors may be uneven or damaged under the old boxes. Measuring the bare space gives an installer accurate numbers and avoids cabinets that do not fit.
